Quick, Full Synthetic Oil Changes — Since 1999

Wayne's Auto Repair has been changing oil for central Ohio drivers since 1999. We use full synthetic oil as our standard — the recommendation of nearly every modern vehicle manufacturer and the industry default for protecting today's engines. If you're looking for a fast, up-front oil change near you, you've found the right shop.

Every Wayne's oil change includes more than just the oil and filter. Our ASE-certified technicians run a free multi-point inspection while your car is on the lift — checking fluid levels, tires, brakes, belts, hoses, lights, and wiper blades. If something needs attention, we'll tell you up-front so you can plan ahead.

Find Wayne's at three convenient locations across central Ohio: Columbus, Westerville, and Powell. All three shops are part of the Alpha Automotive family — a network of trusted Ohio repair shops with decades of community service behind us.

Signs You're Due for an Oil Change

Skipping oil changes is one of the fastest ways to shorten an engine's life. Modern vehicles on full synthetic typically run 5,000 to 10,000 miles between services — but check your owner's manual for your vehicle's specific interval. If you're seeing any of these, it's time:

  • It's been 5,000 to 10,000 miles since your last full synthetic oil change — or whatever interval your owner's manual specifies
  • It's been a year or more since your last change (regardless of mileage)
  • Your oil-change light or check-engine light is on
  • The oil on the dipstick looks dark, thick, or gritty
  • The engine sounds louder, ticks at idle, or runs rougher than usual
  • You smell oil inside the cabin or under the hood
  • You're seeing oil spots on the driveway or garage floor
  • Your owner's manual is calling for service

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I get an oil change?

Most modern vehicles on full synthetic oil are due for a change every 5,000 to 10,000 miles. Your owner's manual gives the specific recommendation for your vehicle. If you're not sure where you stand, bring it in and we'll check it for you.

What type of oil does Wayne's use?

We use full synthetic oil as our standard at every shop — in the viscosity your manufacturer recommends (like 5W-30 or 0W-20, listed in your owner's manual). Full synthetic has become the industry default for nearly all modern vehicles. If your vehicle specifically requires conventional or synthetic blend, just let us know and we'll accommodate.

Why does Wayne's use full synthetic oil?

Full synthetic is now recommended by most modern vehicle manufacturers and has become the industry standard. It provides better engine protection, performs better in extreme heat and cold, and supports the longer service intervals today's engines are designed for. The slightly higher cost typically pays for itself in reduced wear and longer engine life.

What else do you do during an oil change?

Every Wayne's oil change includes a free multi-point inspection. We check tire pressure and tread, fluid levels (coolant, brake, power steering, transmission, washer), battery, belts, hoses, lights, and wiper blades. If we spot something, we tell you up-front so you can plan ahead.

How long does an oil change take?

Most oil changes at Wayne's take about 30 to 45 minutes, including the multi-point inspection. Walk-ins are welcome, but an appointment usually gets you in faster.

Do you have any oil change specials?

Yes. Our standing special is $20 off the standard retail price of a full synthetic oil change at any Wayne's location, year-round. No coupon or code needed — just mention the offer when you check in. The discount cannot be combined with other oil-change discounts or promotions, but it's always available on its own.

Can I bring my own oil and filter?

Yes, you're welcome to bring your own oil and filter. We'll do the labor and the multi-point inspection — just let us know when you drop the car off. Note that the $20-off standing special applies to oil purchased through Wayne's.

Will you reset my vehicle's oil-life monitor?

Yes. If your vehicle has an oil-life monitor or maintenance reminder system, we reset it as part of the service so it reflects the new oil.

Do I need an appointment for an oil change?

Walk-ins are welcome and oil changes are usually quick — but an appointment will get you in faster, especially during busy times. Use the button below to request a time online, or call the shop nearest you.
